1955(2nd series) Chevy big window 3100

The first one is a 1949 Chevy 5 window 3100. This truck originally belonged to Daryl’s grandfather back in the 70’s. Eventually it was passed on to Daryl’s uncle who used it as a daily driver until the front was damaged when he hit a deer. It was parked in the mid 80’s and sat in a shed until we pulled it out in the summer of 2000. We stripped it down and repainted it torch red, put a new oak floor in the bed and freshened up the 283 engine and 3 speed manual transmission. It was “finished” and driving in 2003 and we have been enjoying it ever since.

The second one is a 1955(2nd series) Chevy big window 3100. This truck was purchased at an auction in Albert Lea, MN in 2008. We have taken a little longer with this one as there are many more modifications being done. We stripped this truck down to the frame which was sandblasted and epoxy painted, installed a Mustang II suspension system with power steering and disc brakes and put in a ZZ4 crate motor with a Turbo 350 transmission. Lynae doesn’t like driving a stick so she wanted this one to be an automatic! We smoothed the dash, put in a chrome tilt steering column, one-piece glass power windows, Painless wiring harness, hidden LED taillights and many other changes.
